Norms and approvals

This standard is part of a group of standards aimed at ensuring the ability and appropriateness of technical equipment. It constitutes a system contributing to fire safety (when there is a risk of fire and of panic). In particular, it concerns actuated safety systems which provide the functions of compartmentalization, smoke removal or evacuation.

The labour code is a legal requirement for all employers: the obligation of providing for the safety of their employees.

It applies to closing systems installed on emergency exit doors which could be used in situations of panic. All the occupants of a building (a public access building for example) including those who don't know the emergency exits and those who have been familiarised with the emergency exits are immediately in danger if a situation of panic occurs and must be able to flee from the building.
